Great. How do I do that? I don't have a Windows 7 disk. Will I lose everything saved on this computer?
Sorry I am not incredibly computer savvy, I'm not even sure how my computer got this way

Dell computer come with either a set of DVD's or a Recovery partition from which you can recover the system to its ex-factory state.
Yes, you would lose all your data - but you should be able to back it up to external media first (check the Dell manual for instrucions).

I strongly suspect that a repair install attempt would fail - do you have the necessary media for one anyhow?

I do not have a Windows 7 disc, but I have found instructions on how to repair without a disc. But if you are pretty sure it would fail I may forgo that and just reformat. Just the idea of doing so is a little daunting.

I guess that was vague, and to be clear I meant a physical disc, this has you using an ISO.

I don't remember my computer coming with a disc for windows. I still have the box and it has the disc with the drivers on it, as well as several Adobe discs.

Oh....lol well I guess that answers that. I don't really know how to reformat. I guess I will ask dell support(ugh!) Yea the only discs I have are drivers and Utilities, the webcam, adobe premiere, and adobe photoshop. Its a weird problem, like almost everything works fine on the computer.
Oh I have a question, my computer has two hardrives, C: runs everything and D: is just storage. Will I lose everything off both drives?

I'll take the 5th Amendment on that one! :)
For safety, I would always back up everything to external storage anyhow, since disasters can happen.
