Update Error 080073712 !

I don't think I've ever seen a larger COMPONENTS hive!
Most are around 40-45MB, but this is 142MB!

The only reason for that I can imagine is that you have a very large number of MUI packs installed - and Home Premium can't have MUI packs unless it's been hacked to allow them.

Having said that, it's always possible that the error in the file has prevented proper maintenance, with this type of result.
Hopefully, I'll have fixed it when I post the revised file in the am - and your version will come back down in size.

Please download and save it to your desktop.
Right-click on the file and select Extract All, and save to the default destination (which should be a folder on the desktop)

Create a new System Restore point

Open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following commands.

Here are some instructions to make life easier :)
1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.


Now run another CheckSUR scan and post the new log.
