Clean Install Is Windows Update on Strike

    Hi Guys

Ive just done another clean install of Home Premium x64 the third one in two days, and cannot get any windows updates, just hangs on searching for updates, no error code doesn't even time out.
The first time I thought it was a corrupt install so tried again same thing. Today i downloaded my saved iso from one drive and re applied to a new usb and bugger me still cant get any updates to filter through apart from the update for windows update.
Anyone else having the same issues, all I can think of is the servers are overloaded with windows 10 updates.
Gone back to 10 for now but would be interested to hear from others.

    Cheers Danny

I have the same issue with Vista.

Have seen a couple of reports of it on recent installs of win7 as well.

Apparently might be connected with intel sata drivers. Not sure why that would be, but it's worth a try.

See if you can update yours using iata_enu.exe

I couldn't get theiata drivers to install.

Next step is try the SURT tool.

It is quite big, though. https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/down....aspx?id=20858

I am not having a problem with win7, just with Vista.

Might be because I update the 7 installation media every month or so.

Yer suppose I could go that way and update the ISO but whos to say I will receive future updates. Are you saying you can contact WU on an updated install

Clean install windows home premium will not update after service pack

Clean install 7 home premium, windows update not downloading, no error

Looks like its all kicking off
