    Windows 7 SP1 Update Hanging

    Hi all

Hope you can help me. I installed Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 this morning on my laptop but the Windows update keeps hanging on "Checking for updates".

I have tried several things - rather, my husband has - and it still occurs. We've turned off the Windows firewall, activated Windows, tried searching several fora for similar issues - but nothing is working. Hubby is not keen on simply clicking on any link I might find that is deemed a solution, and I don't blame him for that.

Frustrated to the max as I need this for work!

    TIA

PS: Can't supply a CBS file as when I right-click on the CBS folder in C:\Windows\Logs it won't let me copy the folder, only a link, which will not paste onto my desktop.

Still trying to find out to give you all a CBS file, but I still cannot copy and paste it as it appears as a hypertext link. I guess that is why no-one has been able to respond as yet. This is troubling me as I am not very good with the diagnostics of computer systems (as in, never done anything other than simply use a computer), and my hubby has given up...this means I don't know who else to go to for help.

    Thanks again.
