    WU KB3072630 won't install

    Hi
First post and first problem is posting what you require. Despite trying everything I can find on the web I cannot get this update to install. I have now followed your initial posting rules, System Readiness Tool, Surface Scan and zipping the CBS folder. Problem No1 look at the size of the compressed files ( screenshot attached ) , much too large to post? Can I delete all the files in this folder, redo the above and try another update to recreate a smaller log? Or what? Any help appreciated, Dave

I see you are happy with Dropbox so here is the link to my zipped CBS folder

Initally only KB3072630 wouldn't install, with error 80073712 but I have just tried again and now 2 further updates will not install. Thanks for any help.

Anyone point me in the right direction to get KB3072630 installed or assure me I can ignore it?

Thanks but I have tried WU Troubleshooter, WU Diagnostics, tried renamimg Catroot2, tried installing with AV off and anything else I could find.

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

    Thanks Noel.
I have removed all the CBSPersist cab files except the latest but the zip is still way over the 8MB limit.
Even posting the files seperately the 168MB CBS.log file only zips down to 10MB and the 9MB cab file hardly compresses further.

I still need the CheckSUR.log file from the CBS folder.

You seem to be having connection problems to the WU servers?

The connection problems may have been caused by me trying to upload the 10MB CBS.log file and the 9MB cab file. I have attached the CheckSUR logs

You have a number of problems
Here's the summary of what CheckSUR found...
    Code:
    Summary:
    Seconds executed: 5903
     Found 32 errors
CSI Manifest Missing Total count: 3
CSI Payload File Missing Total count: 27
CBS Registry Error Total count: 1
CBS Watchlist Package Missing Total count: 1

    Unavailable repair files:

The manifest files and other problems are fairly easy to fix - the registry problems may not be.
    Code:
    (f)	CBS Registry Error	0x00000002	Microsoft-Windows-ServerFoundation-Base-LanguagePack-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~th-TH~0.0.0.	Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\PackageDetect	Failed to open store sub key
    (f)	CBS Watchlist Package Missing	0x80070002	WinEmb-NetFx20Client~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~sr-LATN-CS~0.0.0.0	Package_	Package registry presence failed, possibly an orphaned package on package watchlist
I think we'd better work on these first.
The harder one is the CBS Registry Error 0x00000002 - I need to see part of your registry hive...

Open Regedit, and navigate to the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based servicing\PackageDetect Key
right-click on it, and select Export - Change the 'Save as Type..' to Registry Hive and name it mdvreg , Save it and upload it to your response.
