    Cloned Win7 no longer Activated

    Hi there,
I am having problems after cloning Win7 Ultimate x64.

My HDD was craping out so I bought a new Samsung 850 Evo 250GB SSD.

Cloned Win 7 disk using the Samsung data migration software that came with the SSD, and proceeded to use the new drive.

Everything is running fine but I went to upgrade to Windows 10 and it now says Windows is not activated on this computer.

I checked Control Panel> System and it now says I have 23 days to activate Windows.

    MGADiag Tool output attached:

Your problem lies with the Retail Gigabyte motherboard.
Your Windows License Type: OEM SLP will only work on the computer that it was first installed on.

    Also the
Windows Product ID: 00426-OEM-8992662-00009 is not for your system. That code was issued with a Win 7,Ultimate,FUJITSU.

You need to do a proper Windows 7 install using a proper Windows 7 COA key matching the installed Windows 7.

    Your welcome.

Do you have one of these on your computer?
The information on that Microsoft sticker may or may not be helpful. DO NOT post the COA number if you have a sticker.

No I don't, not sure where where the original Windows on my machine came from as I bought it secondhand. But I'm sorted now, I got hold of a copy of Windows 10 from my university, managed to boot it off a USB after a bit of messing around.

Cheers for your help, I am new to this forum, do I give you +1's or anything for helping or just mark as solved?

    Cheers

I can't mark it solved but you can. Somewhere close to the bottom their is a Solved button. You can see it because you started the thread but I can't see the button in your thread.

Wish you lots of happy computing with your Windows 10.
