    Peruse my WGADiag Tool Please?...

    Hi:
Today I went to the MS website to download a Win7 SP1 ISO for safe-keeping. Entered my Product Key and MS liked it and then asked me to select my preferred language for my ISO. When I searched the drop-down box English was nowhere to be found. I purchased this Win7 Ultimate retail box from an online vendor of "authorized" MS products several years ago and have had no problems with my OS since installation. I am now concerned this product may show up on MS site as being some variant of an international copy since English wasn't offered when I tried to download the ISO. (Even though the DVD case says it is English and only to be sold in the U.S.) I was hoping you could help here and let me know if there is anything amiss. Thanks a lot.

My MGADiagTool Info.........Well maybe not. I get the error message
"Failed to create output files, hr=0x800706b5. Please contact support.

Anyone have a clue as to how I should proceed?

So after this post I gathered up my guts and imaged my partition then ran KB971033. It ground it's grist for a couple of minutes or less then nothing. I closed the app and that was it so I am assuming my copy of Win7 Ult is genuine as I had hoped. That is nice since I bought two copies from the same vendor. :) Anyway I still get the MGADiag Tool error but it looks like everything here is good with the exception of not being given the choice on the MS website to download an ISO in English (US). I'll just make an ISO from the MS disk and put the original away somewhere safe. Just being protective of my purchase. Thanks anyway.

You should be able to complete this tutorial by Brink and post the log here.

That log will allow our expert to give guidance.

Okay, Thanks for helping me out here. Since "ActivationUpdate.exe" didn't give me any information it would be nice to know my OS is legit. I wonder though has anyone else run into the problem of not having an "English" choice in downloading their ISO? Should I start a new thread for this if my OS looks in the clear?

I've yet to see anyone actually successfully get an ISO from that Microsoft site, if it doesn't work using Internet Explorer I doubt it will work at all.

Well I don't see a problem in the log but I'm not a pro at this but I do know one.
I will ask him to take a look, so just hang in there.

Opp's Derek and I posted at the same site.

I have been told that this site is a 50/50 chance.
    Never tried myself.

Thanks Layback Bear and derekimo, Since I had the "ActivationUpdate.exe" gadget not throw a shoe I think I am in pretty good shape. Have always had no problems downloading MS software which required validation etc., all has been good. derekimo, Thanks for the comment about the ISO web page. I should have known and did suspect the no English thing was a glitch or oversight. Oh well I have improvised!

Thank you guys for taking time to answer my concerns. Will check back for results but if ya'll are busy that is fine too. I'm in no rush at all.

Also, if no one has said this lately, this site has proven to be invaluable to me and I'm sure many others. Thanks!
