OK - we're going to have to try and do this the hard way, since none of the usual suspects appears to be doing the job

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

3 ) and now, at booting I got the message " preparing to configure Windows, do no turn off your computer" ! have not seen that one for ages

Ah - in that case, I may know what the problem is...

If KB3004394 is installed, uninstall it, and reboot twice.
Do a Check for Updates, and install the new version of KB3004394, and any other updates.
reboot again, and run a new MGADiag report, and post it.

No, its not there, they are all ( 21) framework 4 updates. I checked the old once before 11/6 and it's not there either, so I suppose we are back to the WUPI thing. Hope I can manage it .................

    We will find out soon,

    Cheers,

That sounds as if you were looking in the Update History (which we cleared) rather than the Installed Updates listing.

No I checked it, it's the installed updates history.

Well, the System Update Readiness Tool ( hotfix KB947821 ) did not wanne work.

I have been presistendly trying lots of different ways, like the normal Windows trouble shooters and so on and I was given a lot of contradictionairy info. At one moment I got to 10% of 24 important updates (1447 MB )
and the it stopped and came back with error reports.

Now I find out that 2 updates were installed succesfully ( 9/14/2015)

    Hotfix KB 947821 (x2)
Windows Malicious Software removal Tool x84, KB 890830

    I get the following error code messages;

    0x80070057 and 20246007

    KB 3004394 was never installed.

My last updateswere on the 11 th of june.

My trouble shooter says that I have NEVER checked for updates and that updates have NEVER been installed???

My trouble shooter says that I have NEVER checked for updates and that updates have NEVER been installed???
The reson for that is that either
    1) you've cleared the update history by renaming/deleting the SOftwareDistribution folder(a too-common part of troubleshooters)
    or
    2) a new Windows Update Agent has been installed.

Let's go about it a slightly different way - please follow the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions - but instead of posting the resulting file to a thread in the BSOD forum, just upload it to your reply here.
That'll give me a mass of data to work with
