when windows updates ready icon does not appear in notification area
Windows updates set to notify if available including ms products.
Cleared out tray notification icons in registry
sfc /scannow found no errors
SURT KB 947821 does not complete successfully
WU icon set to show icon and notify
tried resorting from system image from April 2015. It worked until the updates since then were installed except for KB's 3035583, 3022345, 3068708, 3075249, 3080149 which were hidden and not downloaded.
no error codes - still getting updates just not the notification they're available.
However event viewer did have this error which i believe relates to windows updates

it refers to faulty hardware, but I don't have clue as to what that could be since all devices work
