    Windows not genuine error, x8004fe22

Hi! I bought my HP laptop about 3 years ago with Win7 Home Premium already installed on it and for about a month now I've been getting the "windows not genuine" pop up. The sticker with my windows key has also rubbed off so I don't even have my own key to try and re-activate it just in case.. Here's the MGADIag report:

This is actually a pretty rare error - which I think means that the scripting engine isn't properly registered.

Have you just changed your AV?
    What is you current AV?
What other AV's have EVER been installed on this machine?

I've had the full paid version of Norton Internet Security before but then decided to install AVG Free instead. And I think you're gonna have an "aha!" moment when I tell you I used Revo Uninstaller to get rid of the norton files and I didn't do any backup plus that is also uninstalled now..

Certainly an Aha! moment as soon as you mention Norton.
Please run the Norton Removal Tool -
Download the Norton Removal Tool from here https://www-secure.symantec.com/nort...=1&pvid=f-home

Close all other programs, then run the tool. When it's complete, reboot the machine whether it asks for it or not.

After the reboot, open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following command

    NETSH WINSOCK RESET

You'll be advised to reboot - do so.
    then post another MGADiag report.

Not too surprising - AVG may also be getting in the way (because of the residual Norton stuff, at least partly)
Please uninstall AVG, then run their Remover tool...
AVG | Download tools and utilities
Then reboot - After the reboot, open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following command

    NETSH WINSOCK RESET

You'll be advised to reboot - do so.
    then post another MGADiag report.

You can then either reinstall AVG, or use MSE at least temporarily while we sort this out.

Still no change - we'll have to see if there's any clues in the Event logs.
    Open Event Viewer
click on the Windows logs entry in the left pane to expand it.
Now click on the Application entry - wait while it loads.
Click on 'File' in the menu bar and select Save...
    Save the file as Appevt.evtx
    Repeat for the System log
then zip both, and upload them.
