Error 0x800723 trying to Activate a LEGAL install of Win7 Pro 64Bit! I

Diagnostics below. Suddenly I'm getting a Boot message "illegal copy of WIndows" - -
I follow prompts to Activate this LEGAL copy of Win7 Pro 64Bit -
    The Error Code is: 0x8007232B.

This is an HP laptop perhaps a year old.
I Restored windows a month ago after a buggy Windows Update.
I've had errors related to "KMS" starting some weeks ago, but it is in Startup.

I've run the MS Support suggestion for "MAK instead of KMS": https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929826#method1
but reboot still says "illegal windows" etc.

Legal Windows 7 but "Activation Error" "DNS name does not exist"

    MASD report is below.
It says to run: slmgr.vbs /ato which I did, but same error re-occurs
Where can I find & fix "DNS Name" and/or "KMS Server"?

:: Please use slmgr.vbs /ato to activate and update KMS client information in order to update values.

KMS Activation is done on private servers - not MS ones.
If you don't have access to the private server, then you don't have a license to use Windows.

From where did you get this Key and install of Windows? (or computer if they came together) Certainly it shouldn't ever have been sold with a KMS license installed,

This is the Windows 7 pre-installed on this HP laptop which I got at a MicroCenter store in the next town. It came with Windows 7 Pro installed with an option to install windows 8.

I've had it for probably 18 months.

Some weeks ago, perhaps 2 months ago, there was an odd issue with "KMS Service", a popup saying it wasn't working. this may have followed a windows Update. I basically ignored it.

Now, 10 days ago, I started getting messages "your windows may be illegal", and ultimately
error 0x8007232B. It says "DNS name does not exist." per title of this post when I followed popup instructions.

It sounds very much to me as if you've been had
I assume that there is a Windows 8 sticker on the case of your machine, rather than a Windows 7 COA?
That being the case, then your only hope of avoiding a reformat is this...

Click on the Start button (Windows Orb) and in the Search box type

    SLUI 3

the 'Enter your product Key' wizard should come up
    Enter the key 74T2M-DKDBC-788W3-H689G-6P6GT
and follow the instructions - what happens?

    Reboot - what happens?
    post another MGADiag report.
