    windows update repair fails

    Hey all,

HP DV6700 just replaced vista and the old HDD with win 7 x 32 and a 840 evo SSD.

    Runs well, much faster.

The only problem so far with the new install is windows update never finishes and the windows update "fix" from Microsoft comes up with am error, attached.

I ran the windows stand alone update and it has been running forever and never comes up with anything or shuts itself off.
    Something isnt right.

The copy of 7 is 32 bit SP1. No VPN I am using a wifi router at home, nothing unusual, other computers update.
This always connects fine upon startup.

    Thanks for any ideas.

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

Thank you for the reply, sorry I have not been here.......
I just reloaded a new SSD with 7 SP1 and it has been checking for updates for about 3 hours now.....same thing that happened before.
I will let it run for a while this time...like all day.

Some people have found they had to leave the system to itself for up to 24 hours before eventually WU finished checking. I suspect that it's a problem with a limited number of MS servers.
