Hi guy's sorry I have been offline for a little while with some family issues but I want to follow up on this because I really want to get this laptop working for my daughter. Just a little re-cap...

The hard drive was dying so my daughter backed up the system on to 3 CD's replaced the hard drive and then reinstalled the discs. It did not install properly. It won't authenticate, I got it to but it won't stick. Windows update is totally non functional and I have had 2 microsoft tech support remote in to try and fix it but both failed.

I would like to ask the question...is there a way to download windows from somewhere and just reinstall the whole thing again? I have the product key. I don't need to save anything. Or would I have to go out and purchase a whole new software for windows 7?

    Thanks!
