Copy of Windows 7 Ultimate isn't showing updates

I've recently built a computer with the aid of my friend with Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) installed back in mid August. During this 2 month period I've noticed that Windows hasn't informed be about any updates and whenever I go to check for updates, it says to restart the computer. Another thing to note is that my copy of Windows 7 was bought back in 2011 and has not been used since then.

Asides from this, I also got a notification regarding my copy of Windows 7 isn't genuine even though I bought it.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Let's check the non-genuine problem first...
Please follow this tutorial and post an MGADiag report - then we can see what the problem is.

Windows Genuine and Activation Issue Posting Instructions

Ignore errors produced when clicking on the Copy button - they simply mean that the tool could not create the backup files for some reason. The data is still copied to the clipboard for pasting to your response.

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

The COA ticket on the case of the installation disc reads the following:

    "BTS - 3243174 - MSIN
Win Ult 7 English ROW DVD"

Asides from that here's the diagnostics from the .exe you provided:

The MGADiag report looks fine to me.
The only problem i can see is that this is probably an upgrade while the machine was builly on 2014.
Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested logs
