    Windows 7 won't update

For the last few days, I have the update con on my shut down bar on the start menu. When I shut down the computer, it doesn't download the updates, nor install any when I power on the computer. I used the cmd prompt to check the files, and it said that some couldn't be fixed. So I did a manual update, of which there was 2 items. They downloaded, restarted and installed fine. But I am still getting the update icon.

I am not sure what to do and am kinda computer illiterate.

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

Sorry for the lack of reply, I have been quite busy. I am doing it today, but wanted to know if I could still use my computer for other things while running the SURT. I am very busy and any amount of downtime can be costly.

Okay, sorry for the double post, but I just finished it.

I posted 2 links in case one doesn't work.

And I am attaching the log file.

We also need the CheckSUR logs - there's no problem in the SFC scan, and no significant errors in the background data of this log.

Where do I find those? When I ran it, I didn't see a log option. Also, it seems I am not having the issue anymore. The update icon no longer shows up.

The CheckSUR logs are in the same place as the CBS logs - C:\Windows\Logs\CBS
