Did you click on the Review optional updates link on the second screen shot ?
If so you also right clicked the win-10 update and selected Hide ?

Sounds like it should be listed in processes if 10 is installing :/
    Processes section,
If not listed there on the bottom left click on Show processes for all users and look there too.
Checked all over, can not find any GWX.exe file..

What does Windows Update show as available when you check for updates again?

    Ron,

Just to verify, you used step 3 in OPTION ONE below?

Upgrade to Windows 10 Update - Enable or Disable in Windows 7 or 8.1 - Windows 10 Forums

If so reset Windows Update using OPTION THREE below to see how it does afterwards.

    I had 2 choices.

    • Option One: To Enable or Disable Upgrade to Windows 10 Update using a REG file (I used this one)
    • Option Two: To Enable or Disable Upgrade to Windows 10 Update using Group Policy

Then download this: 3. To Disable Upgrade to Windows 10 Update to the desktop. Then I clicked on the file and when it opened I clicked "Merge" then I was ask 2 questions, which I clicked Yes.

Then it disappeared.. Then I did a reboot and checked the updates and my old buddy was still hanging in there..

    Only one..

I got this machine off my friend, after her mom passed away I took it off her hands..

I left it the same way it was, and sometimes the name Debbie appears..

Debbie is the original owner, her son tried installing windows 7 on top of windows 7 and screwed the machine up..

I took it and redone the machine to work properly..

I don't know how to remove Debbie's name, it's on a few files..

If this is the case I would do a clean install and that would take care of all of your issues,
Then refer to page one on how to cull out the win-10 updates before they install which is the preferred way,

Seriously consider buying a new ssd to install win-7 on you will not regret a ssd it's the single best performance upgrade for a old machine or new machine for that matter :)
