    cannot reboot using "restart now" button in windows update


    Hello! I have a minor problem with one of my customer. Her laptop (asus X53u w/ windows 7 home premium x64) reboots perfectly using the start menu "restart" option.. but when I run windows updates and press its "restart now" button, the screen goes blank as if is shut down and the rest of the hardware is still running (fans on as well as the light on the power button). It occurs right after "Configuring windows updates 30%". The fans are still running, power button light is still on and the screen is shut down...

    It is the first time I have this issue... do you guys have any clue on how to troubleshoot this? It only happens with the restart now button after installing windows update.

    Edit: i need to hold the power button for 4 seconds to get out of that blank screen state
