Hi dbaray & welcome to the forum.
Did you have a virus or malware on your machine?
What anti-virus, anti-malware & firewall are you running?

You have huge amount of issues according to checkSUR.log
NoelDP will need to chime in on this, he's the expert.
Repair install of win7x64 pro might the correct path. (not recommending this) Just a thought with amount of corruption.

    Thanks wben353,

I just reset windows update components and run the SURT again. I am attaching again the checkSUR.log.

Here are the answers to your questions

Did you have a virus or malware on your machine?
    Maybe, but I never realized.

What anti-virus, anti-malware & firewall are you running?
    I have Norton Security.

Thank you so much for your help,
    dbaray

I'll work on finding the unavailable repair files. In the mean time, run these and see if they find any malware/viruses. They're all free. I like free!!

    Malwarebytes click here

HitmanPro click here make sure you download x64 version

    SuperAntiSpyware click here

    ADWCleaner click here

ADWCleaner requires a reboot after you remove crapware.

You can remove/delete any crapware they find on default setting safely (I use these regularly without issues)

If HitmanPro finds anything and you can't delete it, activate the trial period and delete away!!

Be patient and allow those scanners to complete, one at a time.

Let us know if they found anything (don't need to be real specific as to what, just, virus, pup, toolbar, etc.)

I'm not a fan of Norton stand alone antivirus or Norton Security Suite (better AV's and firewalls free too)

Thanks so much. I just finished running all the suggested programs. They all found adware, but I don't think there were any virus or malware. I am attaching screen shots of the results.

Please let me know if you have any other idea on how to solve the problem.

    Kind regards,
    dbaray

You should give NoelDP a shout on how to proceed. I'm not an expert here by any means, he is.

Did you delete the 191 files HitmanPro found?

    OUCH!

There is no real way to fix that number of CheckSUR problems manually - a repair install is your best option.

That's what I thought NoelDP, glad to hear you agree.
Hope your eye issue is better.
