how to protect now that KB3097877 gone & turned off microsoft updates?
Hello!
I was unable to log in with the Tues 11/11/15 update. I could only turn on with windows system restore to a date before 11/11. Once I logged in, after researching & frantic backing up, I discovered that KB3097877 was the culprit, I uninstalled it and changed my Windows Update settings (see image below) and so far, my computer was able to restart. I have made a restore point, 2 system backups & 2 bootable WinPE dvds using EaseUS just in case (altho I have never had to recover or disc boot my computer & am unfamiliar with how to do so)
.
Here are my questions
1) Now that I have turned off microsoft updates
A - How do I protect myself from vulnerabilities? Is Kaspersky Internet Suite 2016 enough? I read elsewhere that the re-issue did not fix the login loop & I was afraid to download the re-issue.
B - How do I turn microsoft updates back on again when the KB3097877 issue has been fixed? I was not able to simply recheck "turn on microsoft updates", will I ever be able to turn them on again?

2) How do I screen updates & prevent KB3097877 from coming back without completely turning off my updates? Is hiding it enough?
-----------------------------------
3) Do you think Microsoft will release another fix? If so, do you think it will be soon?

I have tried to be calm, concise & brief in this post- but in all honesty, I'm quite frazzled and out of my league. I'm resourceful, but this is not my area of expertise & each step of the way I have had to google things like "what is BIOS?" and "how to boot from a WinPE disc" after googling "what does WinPE mean?" lol
I had planned to launch an online eCommerce site next month & can not afford to get a new Win 10 computer. I hope u guys can forgive the vent & thx for listening.
I truly appreciate any advice & help.
