Windows 7 Not Genuine Copy - Build 7601

This appears to have happened after a power overload tripped the breaker on my power strip.

I found the download here for the Microsoft Advantage Diagnostic Tool, and ran the scan. I'm adding it below. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Colangus & welcome to sevenforums. I'm not an expert in this area but didn't want to leave your thread unanswered. Should be easy fix.

    Try this

run attached to obtain product key on computer. You can click on popup, press CRTL + c to save to your clipboard. You can paste it into notepad, wordpad, or word. Print or copy it. Printing would elevate transposition, addition or deletion of characters. all 25 of them. for your info, product key does not contain "A" or "1" or "0" zero.

in searchbox type cmd when cmd.exe appears, right click and choose run as administrator

copy & paste slui 3 into command prompt window

    popup will appear

    re-entered product key

This MGADiag report was produced while in Safe Mode - and is consequently not much use for diagnostic purposes.

It is of note however, that there is a COA_SLP Key in use which implies that the machine was preinstalled with Windows 7 despite being manufactured after the release of Windows 8 (at least to judge by the BIOS date).

Is there a COA sticker on the machine's case - or a Windows 8 sticker?
