    Hi Porthos,

It might be possible as I have been using the setup for some time and my MSDN subscription expired but I was getting windows updates till at least a month ago. very surprised.

Anyway I have added a new key from my 'active' MSDN subscription and am still getting the same error (attached).

I would do a clean install of either 7 or 10 your choice and go from there. That is what I would if my systems acted up like that.

    Hi Porthos,
I would like that to be the last resort. I am still hopeful someone might be able to help.
    Cheers

Best advice I can think of is use a activation key that is not associated with technet :)
