Windows 7 Ultimate stuck in update loop after trying Windows 10

    Hi,
I updated to Windows 10 but found after the upgrade my Windows installation would suddenly hang roughly after 2-3 minutes.
I reverted back to my trusted Windows 7 setup but found I am unable to update windows.

As per instructions on Windows update posting:
    1) Ran SURT - no issues were found
    2) SFC scan - no issue found
    3) Windows update error code - None found, screenshot attached
    4) Log collection - attached

Any help will be highly appreciated.

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
So you do think win-10 is going to reload ?

Did you remove the prior win-10 preparation updates ?

I am wondering if windows update is broken for fresh installs?

Am refurbisishing 2 different Dell computers, brand new SSD's, fresh installs of 7SP1 from ISO.

Windows won't update either one. Both have been fully activated. Have tried windows update diagnostic, fix it 50202 (regular and aggressive mode), and windows update reediness tool.

So far my entire day down the toilet.

Every time I reboot and check it says "never checked" for updates! Just runs for hours. "Checking updates" Nothing. What a frustrating experience!

I even tried to upgrade to W10 out of desperation, but when it gets to "checking updates" it stays at ZERO! Amazing hosery. Something is WAY screwed up on the windows update server's end, must be?

Windows update working fine on my other win764 machine though, so go figure?

Not sure what else I can do. Tried re-installing from scratch multiple times, same results.

Just wanted to state it here, obviously there is no solution, just broken Micro$oft garbage as usual.

May take them weeks to even realize there is a major problem?

    Best regards, mannasee

    Hi,
Well just in the last week I've clean installed 2 versions of win-7
1 home premium and 1 pro
Went okay but a tad slow searching but there are 200+ updates as well :)
I usually only search for Important updates and uncheck the box to give recommended updates the same as Important ones
But still do not install or download them automatically.

    Hi Thrashzone,
Thanks heaps. Nope I had not tried to disable windows 10. I had infact given up on ever updating to windows 10.
All I want is for my Windows 7 to recover from this update loop.

Do you want me to provide any further information?

To the thread starter. Looks like you are using an unauthorized MSDN product key. And that is most likely the issue.
