Windows update infinite loop trying to install win7sp1

This morning my plan was to finally get the upgrade to win7 sp1 on my system. I've tried in the past, but also failed.
When i try to start the sp1 update (downloaded manually b/c windows update doesn't show the update), it instantly stops because it is unable to determine my windows version.

Looking at windows update, it seems i'm stuck in a loop with KB2977759 and KB3004469.
At this point, i'm still stuck in that loop, after running sfc, the surt tool, the windowsupdatediag tool multiple times. I have also removed the windows update datastore and download dir contents, to no avail.

Can anyone please guide me out of this mess?

At this point i'm in a state where SURT gives no more errors, but the updates keep coming.
How can i break the loop?
