Unwanted Win 10 upgrade appears in Windows Update

I am running Win7 Home edition and have installed GWX Control Panel in and effort to prohibit the Windows 10 upgrade from appearing in windows update. That program shows "Are Windows Update OS upgrades enabled" is set to Yes. My guess is that if I change it to No the Windows 10 Upgrade in Windows Updated will go away. However, I came across something somewhere that said if I do that all normal updates will not appear. Is this correct? I am concerned that I will not get any Office 2016 updates or upgrades.

Will some one please help me with this conundrum? Boy, I wish MS would leave Win7 alone.

    Thank you.

    Hello jsquareg, :)

If you like, you could use the tutorial below to disable the "Upgrade to Windows 10" update without having to use a 3rd party program.

    Thank you, Brink.

I tried the reg file solution you gave but it stopped the normal update and all of the installed updates disappeared.

Odd. It should only stop the update for Windows 10.

    To Brink,
Your tutorial link should be a Sticky for WU&A instead of over in 10. Kinda late by then. but it sure is helpful as are the rest of your tutorials. Most of them make excellent reading materiel and can prevent a lot of later grief when read BEFORE changes / mods.
