    Windows update errors

Hello, I have following problems with my Windows 7 HP 64bit installation:

    • Windows update stuck with two important updates to install: KB3108381 and KB3109094. When I try to install them (or even download them from Microsoft website and install manually) I get an error code 800B0100.
    • Windows firewall is not able to start. error code 0x6D9
    • I also have problems with Windows Defender, after boot it seems to run well, but it crashes after a while without specific error and is not able to start again – when I try to start it again, I get timeout reached error with error code 0x800705b4

I don’t think my computer is affected by any malware, spyware or any virus. SpyBot check is negative and I use MS Security Essentials without any problems.

About month ago I have moved my installation to new SSD hard drive and I believe that described problems started there. But unfortunately I didn’t realize it soon enough, so I do not have any usable system restore point. I realized I have problems with firewall, but I didn't have time so I've just installed Comodo firewall and problem was "solved". Now I find out that I have problem with Windows Update too. In fact until I open Windows Update manually, I still don't see any errors. It does not report any error in automatic mode. Just endlessly tries to install those two updates.

I have one bit copy of C partition, but I prefer not to use it. Partly because it is a long time and I have made quite a lot of changes since then and partly because I’m not realy sure whether described problems already exists in that copy or not.

    Progress so far:

I have tried Windows6.1-KB947821-v34-x64 System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 and it was installed without errors.

Then I tried sfc scan, but it resulted in error - it found some corrupted files but wasn’t able to fix them. CBS log:

I have found some utility called „WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.diagcab“. When I executed it, it found six errors. Four of them were called (translated) problems with installation of latest updates and were marked as fixed. Other two were: error 0x80070057 and Cryptographic service components are not registered and these two were marked as unsolved.

    Then I found this:
    Windows Update - Reset
and made step 3 - complete Windows update restart. After it I have executed WindowsUpdateDiagnostic tool again and it found only three errors (some security settings are missing or have been changed, service registration is missing or corrupt and one problems with installation of latest updates) and marked all of them as fixed. But when I start Windows Update, it again finds only those two updates and installation fails with the same error. And when I run WindowsUpdateDiagnostic after searching for updates, it again finds errors: error 0x80070057 and Cryptographic service components are not registered...

I realy hope there will be some solution without necessity to reinstall Windows. Thank you for any suggestions.

I've solved it using "repair install", which is by my opinion much better approach in this complicated situation then trying to fix it by tools I described above.
