Windows Update problems now keeps reinstalling KB3004375 KB3031432
Yesterday I had a problem with Windows Update on my Windows 7 Home Premium PC I appeared to get stuck in checking for updates. The following Error message then appeared.
Windows could not search for new updates.
An error occurred while checking for updates for your computer.
Error code - 80070490
Windows encountered an unknown error.
When I went to close the PC down a couple of hours later it indicated that there were updates to install.
On rebooting there was a warning that Updates had failed.
I downloaded and ran the MS FixIt MicrosoftFixit50123.msi
Tried to run Windows Update again.
Still reporting failed updates.
I checked the Update history. The following 10 important updates had failed, though all but the one for Internet Explorer 11 have since installed successfully
Important security updates for Windows
KB3110329
KB3123479
KB3108664
KB3124000
KB3109560
KB 3124001
KB3121461
KB3121212
KB3121918
and KB3124275 for IE11
When I booted up my computer this morning and checked Windows Update I saw two important updates waiting to be installed KB3004375 KB3031432 Both installed successfully.
Looking back at the Update history I see these two updates have been repeatedly installed successfully 5 times since yesterday – just shows how often I rebooted I guess and now they are listed as Available Updates again!!!
Should I just Hide them?
Is this because I have uninstalled and hidden three Updates connected with Windows 10 upgrade, which I do not want to do on this aged machine – KB3035583 KB2952664 KB3021917
How can I stop these updates from constantly installing?
Please give simple step by step instructions as I am not a technical wizard.
I have tried to upload the CBS.zip folder as requested for these threads, but it will not upload, I fear its just too big at 34,646KB, so have uploaded the CBS.log instead. Hope this helps.
