Windows update reboot loop
I need some help here if possible. I tried doing a windows update on my PC last week and it got stuck in the famous reboot loop. It tried 3 times over an hour-and-a-half and finally decided to revert the changes, which took another couple attempts and another hour. For a while after that it couldn't even find any updates to let me try again, even though it clearly failed as the log showed most of the various updates that day failed.
Today I tried it again, since it showed all the updates available again, and the same exact thing happened, only now it can't even seem to revert the changes. After 3 attempts at updating, it says "windows updates failed - reverting changes", where it gets stuck for a half-an-hour before rebooting or shutting down. But it won't revert changes now - it keeps trying and fails and then reboots and tries again. I'm in safe mode right now. I didn't update any optional updates - only the important ones checked by default.
Why is this happening and what do I have to do to get this problem solved? This happened once before last year and a few weeks later it seems to update okay when I tried it again. It's getting so I'm afraid to run windows update. Ridiculous.
I ran this just now:
