updates constantly failing and searching for updates takes forever
My updates keep failing and searching for updates takes forever. I have tried a lot of things like:
- run MicrosoftFixit50123 - clean boot with only windows services - chkdsk /F - sfc /scannow - try to install packages manually - run CheckSUR and a couple other things I can't remember right now. But still the same issues like before: Error Code 80073712 Error Code 80070490 Error Code 800B0100 I checked CheckSUR.log and resolved about 40 errors (corrupt / missing manifest files, missing sample files etc.) and now have still 6 left: Checking Component Store (f) CSI Manifest Failed Catalog Check 0x00000000 winsxs\Manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-shell32_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.18762_none_ca170d2128c5e4f6.manifest amd64_microsoft-windows-shell32_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.18762_none_ca170d2128c5e4f6 (f) CSI Manifest Failed Catalog Check 0x00000000 winsxs\Manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ieframe_31bf3856ad364e35_11.2.9600.17126_none_471a1ee7c314b101.manifest amd64_microsoft-windows-ieframe_31bf3856ad364e35_11.2.9600.17126_none_471a1ee7c314b101 (f) CSI Manifest Failed Catalog Check 0x00000000 winsxs\Manifests\x86_microsoft-windows-msauditevtlog_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.18869_none_c918c4f9d6d3a945.manifest x86_microsoft-windows-msauditevtlog_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.18869_none_c918c4f9d6d3a945 (f) CSI Manifest All Zeros 0x00000000 winsxs\Manifests\amd64_dde8082373780acad1d48b1f7e6f55e4_b03f5f7f11d50a3a_6.1.7601.18523_none_ea0d94d 47d8b5c06.manifest amd64_dde8082373780acad1d48b1f7e6f55e4_b03f5f7f11d50a3a_6.1.7601.18523_none_ea0d94d47d8b5c06 (f) CSI Payload File Missing 0x00000000 crypt32.dll amd64_microsoft-windows-crypt32-dll_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.22380_none_b9cf97000dcd714c (f) CSI Payload File Missing 0x00000000 win32k.sys amd64_microsoft-windows-win32k_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.22919_none_17a80c50ca3f8394 Summary: Seconds executed: 960 Found 6 errors CSI Manifest All Zeros Total count: 1 CSI Manifest Failed Catalog Check Total count: 3 CSI Payload File Missing Total count: 2 Unavailable repair files: winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-shell32_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.18762_none_ca170d2128c5e4f6.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ieframe_31bf3856ad364e35_11.2.9600.17126_none_471a1ee7c314b101.manifest winsxs\manifests\x86_microsoft-windows-msauditevtlog_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.18869_none_c918c4f9d6d3a945.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_dde8082373780acad1d48b1f7e6f55e4_b03f5f7f11d50a3a_6.1.7601.18523_none_ea0d94d 47d8b5c06.manifest I tried to mount windows dvd, but the version of these files do not match and I don't know where to get them from. Windows updates have been slow for a lot of Windows 7 users ever since Windows 10 was released.
Try rebooting the PC, then install the latest Windows update client. Then reboot the PC again and check for updates. Be prepared to wait for at least 30 minutes. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3135445 |

No I don't have a dvd. I got a Windows Vista Ultimate w/Offer Form OEM Software and an upgrade option to Windows 7 Ultimate. I tried Microsoft website to download ISO, but it says:
The product key you entered is obviously one of software that was preinstalled by the manufacturer. Information about software restore options, device manufacturer. I think I bought it more than 7 years ago and can't remember who the manufacturer is to contact or if he still in business :-( Any suggestions? |
