Stuck with .net framework client profile installation, version 4

    Hello,

I was trying to install a CAT application (MemoQ) when the process got interrupted during the installation of .net framework client profile, version 4. I found out that this version is no longer supported, but I'm not sure if this is the issue, since I broke off the installation during the first time. Also, I used a cleanup tool, but to no avail.
As for RegEdit, the versions for Net Framework Setup that came with my Windows 7 version (installed it last December) are v2.05727, v3.0 and v3.5, so I'm well behind.
Do I need to clean out any files from the failed installation, and then move on to installing the proper version (which one? for Windows 7 Pro 64-bit)?

    Many thanks,

    Gerben

P.S. I tried copy-pasting the analysis from the MGDAT, but that doesn't work, sorry.

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
net 4.0 is a tad out of date but that depends on programs that need it I suppose

Net does have a fix program option on it I believe
Heck I'm on 4.5.2 net if a program... insisted on a higher version I'd go to 4.6 but otherwise I'll say with it.

All nets are recommended but for the most part Optional updates.
Patches for any net would be Important.

Thanks for your quick reply. So, I need to open the program (under program files) and check out the fix program option, correct? I'll let you know how I get on.

Have you check Windows 7 Update?
It should offer you Net Frameworks that are needed.

    Hi,
Go to Uninstall a program and all the .nets you have installed will show up
Except for 3.5 that is that is built into windows.
Click the highest .net you have and uninstall or change.
