For more than one year, my automatic Windows Update process has unsuccessfully tried to install (around once a day !) KB3001652 (Visual studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime). I haven't seen any problem with other automated Updates of Windows, MS Office, NET.Framework, etc....

I have tried first "Fix-It" which doesn't produce any error message. Secondly I launched "SURT", which tells me "This update doesn't apply to your computer". "SFC /scannow" doen't report any violation issue.I don't know how to do for resolving this problem.

I'm using Windows 7 Professional 64 bits SP1. Norton (NIS, the most recent version), "ShellfolderFix" and also Tune-Up utilities are installed on my PC. I have also tried to install KB3001652 manually after having deactivated the firewall and the "Auto-Protect" functions of Norton : no success.

Thanks for your help (and sorry if the English translation of the French messages is aproximate)

Hi Xray,
That update was one of MS's "botched" fixes, as you said a year ago.
Please change your updates options to never.
REBOOT
Reset updates to let me choose, when it then reappears Select Hide.

In a couple of days time it will more than likely reappear this will be the patched version, let it update.
and reset updates back to normal.

Thank you Roy. I did the two first steps. And I'm now waiting for the Updater to tell me it wants to install KB3001652.
