    Security Update Error 80242014

Hi there and thank you in advance for any help. Highly appreciated.

My computer is not installing Win Security Updates. I keep getting this message:

'RESTART YOUR COMPUTER TO INSTALL IMPORTANT UPDATES, Win can't update important files and services while the system is using them'.

This started after I installed Win10 two months ago, but successfully reinstalled Win7 after a week.

Only the Security Updates are pending, with error code 80242014.

These are some of 11 pending updates: KB2952664, KB3134214, KB3134814.

When running Win Update Troubleshooter I get Update error 0x80070057.

    Here are logs on OneDrive:

    1st run

    Hi Johann,
    pease run this MS Fixit
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/971058
It will reset your windows update files.

Note those 3 KB's are normal windows updates.

If the fixit does not correct the situation.
    Please run
Download System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB947821) [October 2014] from Official Microsoft Download Center
    then sfc /scannow
and post the results in this thread

    1. Right-click and on the CBS folder and select Copy.
    2. Minimise all open windows and right-click on your Desktop, then select Paste.
    3. Right-click on the CBS folder on your Desktop and select Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.
    4. A file, CBS.zip should appear on your Desktop.
    5. Then upload as an attchment

    Hi Torchwood,
Ran MS Fixit. Did not help.
    Did System Update Readiness Tool.
sfc /scannow found currupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
Followed your instructions, but can not upload CBS zip as an attachment.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Hi Roy,
yes I know, the problem is when I browse and upload, I get the 'uploading please wait', then a message like this:
    This page can’t be displayed
    • Make sure the web address https://www.sevenforums.com is correct.
    • Look for the page with your search engine.
    • Refresh the page in a few minutes.

I then click the 'fix connection problem'. But I do not have a connection problem.
I get a message from Sevenforums: 'Invalid Post specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator'.

The zip folder is 84.7 MB! It contains 5 cbsPersist winrar files, dating back to 3 dates in February.
What is it that you need to see?
This is new to me so...

    Hi Albion,
Do you by any chance have a set of >>DELL<< recovery discs, or know someone who has, must be the same as yours Home premium??

OR did you perform an external back-up using something like Macrium or Acronis
    PRIOR to the w10 upgrade.

OR is the factory reset restore option still available

There is severe corruption on your system according to just the surt report, link fails to connect to onedrive.
and i suspect there will be even more errors in that
It will be far easier to repair/reinstall

    Hi Torchwood,

Yes I have 3 DELL discs.

No, the last time I did a back-up using an external hard-drive was back in 2014. I use FreeAgent GoFlex.

Where would the factory reset restore option be available?
