To answer your question I had a friend install an office on my laptop and when I got it back this is what I had wronge with it. So I when back to the date before he had it and it ask me to put my key in and finish installing. I believe it was the same date that I upgraded. I will let you know what happen. I loan my laptop to a friend and when I got it back it had Office 2013 and this problem. I when back in time to where It was before the office install and it ask me for my key to windows 7. I put it in and fininsh the install from there. I have try running updates and it still give me the error of 8007000e. I don't know what else to do. I don't think I can go back to Vista as I don't see a Windows.old folder. HELP!!

Hi, I remember loaning my laptop to a friend and when I got it back it had Office 2013 on it and the update problem. I have since went back in time with system restore to the date before the Office install. I am still having the update error of 8007000e on my computer. I am thinking my friend done some kind of hack on my computer with the Office. I can't go back to Vista as I do not see any Windows.old folder. I can't do a factory restore on this Dell as I don't see it. when I hit F8 -repair your computer I don't see Dell Factory Restore. My only hope is to fix this Windows 7

Control panel >> system
in the bottom block, windows activation.
click on the change product key and enter the full 25 digit code ending CG9JV
DO NOT POST THE WHOLE CODE

Well I done what you said and click on the change key and put the one I know it good and it said that it was activated. I then ran the update and still I get the same error.

Can you post the info from Windowsupdate log (last 2 days only please).
Oh and by the way as you have a retail licence you can get a W7 iso from MS
