    Thanks again.
I downloaded 7 zip and that opened the program in cmd prompt. but it keeps saying error - run as admin.
I am admin but I also found info on using Control + Shift after highlighting the file.

    Still same message.

Did you unpack with 7z and R-click run as admin ?

There isn't a choice for Admin.

I also pasted the installer cmd in CMD prompt as Admin and it says no such command.

I know I'm doing something wrong - just confusing.

No need for cmd. I just R-click test rights run as admin, R-click ditto installer. I thought every action in Windows had a R-click admin option. My W10 pc -

I remembered in the past that the virus program blocked some downloads.
I temporarily disabled Windows Defender and the "Run as Admin" appeared.

I opened Cmd Prompt as Admin and copied Installer to it ,but now it says "No such Path".

I don't mean to take up all your time - I'll keep fooling with this - Now it's a matter of principle!

I didn't have to disable Defender or use cmd. Maybe you should post your question at MDL.

edit - while typing this, am watching EU debate on BBC1 HD on WMC lol . . .

    Success (partially)

I installed WinRar and was able to download WMC.

The problem now is, I can watch channels by manually entering them but all other options are not there: Channel guide,Recording, etc.

I opened Hdhomerun and and it shows all channels.

    I also ran HDhomerun config.

I also went to Services in Dev Mgr and made sure all are on Automatic.

Am I missing a plug-in or something else?

Edit: I think it is the WMC Scheduler - I turn it on and it turns off.

    Thanks,

    Paul

maybe you should try uninstalling wmc and reinstalling it again. Looks like you can see the channels fine using HD homerun through windows media player.
I noticed that sometimes tv setup gets stuck or fails in downloading tv data during initial setup. It might be that is what causes it.
You might want to download and install playready separately rather than let wmc do it for you as well.

    TOTAL SUCCESS!!

When I looked at the WMC screen, I kept pressing the Back button, as it works on my PC(W7), but when I scrolled down. everything came up.

The only thing I am ,missing is the channel info, but until I can get it back, I'll just open Zap2it.

Thanks again - now I can upgrade my PC to W10 and have Media Center!!

I'd give you another Rep, but rules don't allow it.
