I agree with you, but since have no experience, expertise creating a bootable USB, I at times waste a few DVDs burning a a bootable iso.

    Just to reconfirm

    1. Clean install.
    2. Install 2 updates.
    3. Validate.
    4. Check for updates.

    Correct?

I must say that you are far knowledgeable than 6 MS tech support agents that have come across in the last 3 days...

I had a feeling docs are constipated, but these guys are far more lol.

If ever you need my med expertise (hope not) feel free to PM, that's the best I can do for all your assistance, wish I could pay you too, but probably against forums??

TV too must be against forum rules?

You must be thinking why am I using vintage machines, issue is have invested all I had in a 30 million research project.

    Thanks again!

PS: If you hadn't helped was thinking about calling a tech from a local pc store to help me out......

    How I clean install.

    1. Install W7, delete all partitions, create 1 for W7 and a automatically created system reserved, format the one for W7.

    2. After install, uncheck indexing for SSD, turn off system restore, page file custom min and max 4989 MB.

    3. Connect to internet, validate, check for updates ......In update settings, check only for important and check for updates download only which I select......than install all updates and MS Off, and than comes the rest.

    4. Tweak unrequired services.....any links for services for an end user machine, not on a domain?

    5. Care to suggest any AV, besides Avast.....I use MBAM + Avast.

    Is that ok?

    Thanks.

Thanks young smart man, now you could please remove the link.

The reason for taking a while was download got disconnected due to a network error and had to re download it.

This iso would install W7 and SP1, what about the 2 updates that need to be installed separately, are they in it too?

Shall keep you update how things go.

Again appreciate helping a old man.

    Have a great evening,

    Best regards!

A question, the download gets completed at 2.0 GB, although the size displays 2.4 GB, what could be the reason?

    Thanks!
