    windows keeps installing updates

    hello,
I am having some issues with windows update. The last couple weeks every time i shut down my laptop, there is a message in the screen " installing updates 1/1". I must let you know that in the past i always had my laptop on sleep mode, as a result i missed some updates. Moreover, sometimes because i was in a hurry despite the fact that windows mentioned that i must not power off the laptop when installing updates, i did.

Thank you for your time and patience

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Never a good thing to do what messages say not to do especially if you didn't have a system image to rely on to undo any damage done.

Which update is repeating and which is the last successful and are there any failed to install updates ?

I took some screenshots, as you can see below. I hope they are clear enough and won't trouble you. Could this be the reason why my laptop has been running so slow recently?
Thank you for your prompt reply.

    Hi and thanks
    Here is one possible fix
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...e-issues/en-us
I'll have to go through the other failed ones which looks like all apply to ie11.

Same fix for the other update.

    Hi Kelspan,

Do you actually use IE11, or another browser??

If not you can allways turn it off via
Control panel >> programs & features >> turn off features (top left blue line), uncheck in new window.

That error code usually relates to a lack of access rights.

    Hi,
I would for one disable windows defender you use AVG,
Which i would also recommend switching to Panda free instead
Download tools and utilities | AVG Worldwide

FREE and lightweight antivirus - Panda Security

Seems most other updates do install
I wouldn't turn off ie11 unless you just turn it back on to sort of reset it after getting prompted to restart.

Also scroll back through the updates list for others that have failed.

You can but turn it back on there's no real need to turn it off longer than after a restart.

Just adjust your update settings to these,
