    Error 7601 win7 not genuine - 0xc004f057

    Hello,

After installing win7 updates the computer started to upgrade to win 10. I didn't want that so I switched it off while trying to upgrade.
After reboot the system reverted to win 7 and stated a failed win10 upgrade in the win updates.

However I now have the "Your copy of windows s not genuine error - 7601 - 0xc004f057"

    Here is my

    Hi Kav,
Its come back as non genuine because it is.
Your using an Asus OEM key on a retail motherboard.

Purchase a legitimate copy, to enable it.

    Hi Roy,

    Thanks for your reply.
This computer has been assembled by the biggest PC assembler in Greece "Plaisio Computers" in November 2015 and the warning has not appeared before.
You are the expert, but I still believe there is an issue with the Win updates or the bios or I don't know what.

    Hi Kav,
In that case i would go back to them and tell them what I've said, and also that your going to report them to MS, you could do this anyway they MIGHT give a licence, and tell your local paper.

As its only about 6 months old do you something like our "Sale of Goods Act", covers us for things like this.

As it was a custom Build the licence types they could provided
    OEM - System Builder
    Retail.

    Dont like people getting conned.
