Windows 7: Last ditch effort to install SP1

Last ditch effort to install SP1

I've tried all methods I've seen here for installing Service Pack 1 with no success. (I need SP1 so that I can take advantage of the windows 10 upgrade offer).
Someone suggested trying an in-place repair installation of windows 7, however unfortunately I can't find the windows 7 disk that (may have) come with my Gateway computer.
I went to the microsoft site that allows you to download the iso to build the windows 7 disk, but it asks me to enter the product key on the COA sticker. When I do that it says that my windows was an OEM install and I have to contact the manufacturer for recovery options. Is there any place I can download the iso I need?

You can now perform a fresh install of Windows 10 and use the key you have to activate it without needing to mess around with SP1.

You will of course need to backup your data, (files), and re-install applications after the install, but this is the recommended Best practice anyway

Hi everyone, So I'm currently the owner of a VPCF115FM, also known as a piece of crap. Aside from the fact I just sent it in for the second round of repairs, the screen sucks, the battery sucks, and the processor sucks big time on battery. I paid $1249 for it, and I'm thinking of pawning it off...
