    activate Windows after BIOS flash?

Just flashed my EVGA motherboard to the latest version (2.02).
I restarted and I got a message that Xeon drivers were successfully installed. A little while after that I get a message stating that I need to activate Windows due to a hardware change.
It activated without issue, but what hardware change did Windows see? I didn't change anything, or does a new BIOS look like new hardware?

I have had the same thing occur when I updated the BIOS on my Gigabyte GA-X79-UD5. It must trigger something to require a reactivation.

It is interesting, though, that when I changed the CPU from a I7-3820 to a Xeon E5-2670, no reactivation was required.

    Run KB971033

    Then this tool,
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=52012.

It should show your activated, if not copy/paste i'll have a look.
(there are 2 parts to, licenced/activated, you fall into the to that catagory because you flashed your MB any motherboard changes are a red flag to MS)

I also had to re-activate Office 2013 when I opened it up again after the BIOS flash.
