My updates are set to off just because I wish to initiate them manually. I will return with the missing info later

After a number of actions my Update is working fine for Windows updates (W7 Home P). But it will NOT include M-soft products. There is NO (expected) option in the Update program to enable such actions and the link to read more about the subject brings me to a webpage simply explaining how to open Update i.e. the circle closes.
    Same here now as well.

I cannot update my Office 2013 install. "Microsoft Update" has disappeared completely from the web. In both IE11 and in Firefox. There is no way that I can see to get to that webpage anymore.

    Hello Totte/VP.

Please ensure your running the latest windows update agent
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949104

Then check the registry value here and amend if neccessary

    Open Regedit
    Go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\General
Modify the "ShownFirstRunOptIn" value from 1 to 0
(Note office might show with version No:)

Launch a Microsoft Office component, it will give you the option to download the updates, make sure you select it.

Done, If you go back to "Windows Update", then "Change Settings", you will see the "Microsoft Update" and "Software notifications" sections are available again (until the Microsoft Update check box is unchecked again).

Awesome! Worked like a charm. Except the reg key is "ShownFirstRunOptin".

I just ran WU and see my Office updates.

    Cheers!
