    W7 product key fails after upgrade roll back


    W7 64 bit volume licensed
    Happily working and activated for several years.
    I did all upgrade checks and upgraded to W10 - this failed (USB issues) so rolled back to W7 ... quick & painless and all working fine.
    However the original product key has been replaced with what I assume is a temporary one ....

    I have a print out of all my product keys for machine .... so went to:
    computer > system > change product key and it fails on the original known good key with Error code 0xC004E003 - license evaluation failed

    I went to the KB 931276 article followed various steps but no joy ..... tried activation line it the refers you to but that wants activation ID not product key.

    I have the original volume license install disc ... (pre licensed all versions of W7) I can rerun that if there is a way to get a new product key without having to do a clean install.

    Contact the original company/educational establishment where you got the VOLUME key, as they are the only ones that can help you.

I have not yet installed rc1, and I'm sure this question has been asked several times but I'll be honest and say I'm too lazy to search, so go ahead and flame me...I deserve it.:o Should I not like or have issues with the rc, do I just to a clean install with my Vista disc and all is as it was?...
