    CPU always running at 100%

Few days ago there were few updates downloaded so I installed them.
After the install the computer was making a loud noise and was very slow so I checked and CPU was running at 100%. It didn't drop down at all and was constantly running at 100%.
Similar thing happened to me several months ago and back then I tried restore to a previous date on my computer and that seemed to fix the problem so I tried doing the same again but it didn't work this time.
After searching a bit on the internet I went into services and stopped the Windows updates and the CPU dropped down right away.
Didn't know what to do so today searched on the Microsoft website about resetting Updates history.
Was having few problems so contacted Microsoft help centre and the person there asked to do remote access to my computer and he said he reset the updates.
Now on the Windows updates page it shows last time checked for updates and installed updates as never but when I look for installed updates it shows all the previous updates which means it wasn't reset?
Also, the person from Microsoft said I should click search for updates and as soon as I did the cpu is running at 100% again and the only way to make it drop down is by stopping updates.
Is there any way to fix this?
    Thanks
