    Windows Update Keeps scanning

Hello all I just re-formatted my computer hoping to get my updates to work, seems that didn't work. Any smart person out there can tell me why this is happening. When I go to Windows updates through the start button I get a red cross on my updates, when I click that the green bar just keeps going across, even after an hour still doing it. What causes this I have already tried what people said and nothing is happening. Please help me, thank you.

Hello Pothead mate I have this problem at the moment on a clean install and even using some old tricks like installing IE11 (because my ISO's are IE8 by default) and the SURT https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/down....aspx?id=20858 and also installed the BSOD diagnostic feature which needs some Microsoft downloads - all which have in the past got the updates going to time of typing I only have a few and my update feature I have run overnight with no go.

But I would suggest you do what I did before and see if it works for you.

    Hi and welcome to ServenForums,
    M$ just released this
    https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/...ows-7-and-8-1/

Otherwise the older workaround which takes a lot longer
Reinstalled twice, but Windows still won't update

Hmm well have tried all the usual stuff and after reading those links from TZ seems to me the updates are in a shambles. Frankly 7 on the new install seems to be running as usual so I am just not bothering - if they update they do if not I can still use the OS because after the update situation that began with that release of the free 10 seems to me most of the released updates that were being offered were no more than a cover for shoving 10 to be loaded.

For the record I am running 10 now on two machines and 7 on four and in all honesty I do not have the time or patience to read what each and every update is supposed to be for or do.
