    And it never will.
Your trying to use a Hewlet packard key on a Samsung computer. (MS have picked it up).
Did you re-install using HP recovery discs, if so thats whats confusing MS, and me.

You can get round this by using the W7 Pro key on the OEM sticker, either on the bottom of the lappy or in the battery compartment.
    Then please run KB971033.
    REBOOT

if you then rerun the tool
lines 1-4 will change and the file mismatches should be gone.

If the above changes are completed, then windows updates should run.

Well sheesh -- I asked my hubby if it mattered!! He said it worked before without issue.

Problem is the laptop came preloaded with win 8 and I see no sticker oem

Another problem -- after deleting the language files I rebooted and there were errors so it has spent most of the day scanning for errors and freezing.
I got window error recovery and now it is scanning for window installations in sys recovery options.

Can I just start over -- this thing is starting to give me a migraine.

Time was correct but I didn't check the date earlier.

In that case its classified as a counterfiet install, and an exploit must have been used previously.
MS have picked it up so the computer will not update untill you re-install W8 using the built-in Factory reset option, and if you want upgrade to W10.

Forum rules state that no further assistance can be provided until a legitimate OS is installed.

Sorry just a quick question -- If MS allows downgrades how would it be counterfeit?
Just reading this -- not understanding it all but reading it anyway..lol

    Hi Kickrz,
There are some downgrades that are NOT counterfiet.
Basically it depends on the OEM and the product purchased, and they (Samsung etc) would have supplied you with a set of W7 discs AND a product key.
It might also state on the home page for that model whether this option was available.
