    Some updates Never install

    Hello all,

Some updates never install, on Win 7, and I get the message upon shutdown, "Don't turn off Computer, configuring Windows". Well after about 15 tries, I have about had it with that crap.

How do I either install the updates, (I'm old...be easy) or delete them so that they quit trying to install and configure?

    Thanks

    HM

    Hi HairyMole,
Any update can be installed manually,
    just type in KBxxxxxx.
download it and away you go.

Hi Roy, thanks... I still have a problem. I get this message when I tried to install KBxxxxxxx: "the update is not applicable to your computer."

Makes sense now why it would not install, but how do I get rid of it for good.

    Thanks again... HM

    Interesting!!!
If it was trying to install it from the normal Window Update, then somethings Odd.
Part of the proceedure is to prune this type of update.

    can you go
Computer >> C (or your main drive letter) >> Windows >> Windows update,
then copy/paste the final day's entries.
It should look like this -- see screenshot

I got this message at the top of my 1st post. I did copy and paste in what you told me. It disappeared... Am I in the right forum?

    Thanks
