windows update error 80070422 downloads but does not register

    Dear All

    Very bizarre:

    -windows 7 64bit

configuration panel says that windows cannot search updates, with error code 80070422
    - however the update history shows that updates have been downloaded correctly
    - when shutting down my machine, updates are each time downloaded anew
    - windows installer and windows update are started according to management console (set on automatic)
    - - Background intelligent transfer service is on
    - - Sfc / scannow does not work
    - When I put “net start trustedinstaller in elevated command prompt it gives system error 1058
    - SURT is installed and detects no problems
    - when running the troubleshooter it says that the service registation is lacking or damaged; I get the same message every time I run the troubleshooter

    -

    -

    - I tried everything I could find and understand on the net but nothing helps

    - I copied and compressed cbs.log but it is 85 MB so cannot upload it and the last version dates from one month ago

pl please, please help me !

    Hi Hottentot,
not heard that historic name for a while

The SPPSVC must be set to Automatic (delayed), rather than Manual
Please open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following command
    SC config /start= delayed-auto
    once complete, close the window.
now please check that the Bits service is also set to Automatic-delayed
    REBOOT

    Then
please run the following tool, copy/paste the output

    Hi Hottentot,
please try the MS fixit for the error 0x80072EE7, from this link.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/883821

About the XP reference, thats peculiar. Other parts of the report reference W7??.
From what i can find out that lappy never came with XP, it wasn't even a Vista model, the rest of the report looks fine.
I do have some thoughts on the matter.
The product key in use is the Back-up code from the sticker, Which implies that at some stage (2014) you re-installed W7, but did not use the recovery partition, But an ISO of some description which was NOT from an Acer source, and did not properly install the product detail.
We can update your BIOS which is out of date and this may update the detail as well, see link

    http://global-download.acer.com/GDFi...C=ACER&SC=PA_6

Read the instructions for your model on Acers website for your model beforehand.

    REBOOT (twice please)

Then try a download, the oldest update outstanding, if that works go ahead and try the rest.

If they still fail re-run the Mgadiag, and a copy of the update log,
(C >> windows >> windowsUpdate.) Only the last day entries

    further on issue

    Dear Roy

thank you very much again ! I indeed updated windows 7 from an ISO file because I could nowhere find a windows 7 installation disk. My version was bought with the computer. I stick to windows 7 because I am working in Kinshasa and for higher windows versions you need perfect internet connexions which are not available here. And windows 7 is perfect for me but I am far from being a computer expert so may make mistakes.

When I try the fixit it says "this easy fix does not apply to your operating system or application version".

As for the bios, I cannot find instructions for update for my ACER Aspire 7745G. I hesitate to launch the bios update because if something goes wrong I will not be able to handle it from here. Or should I try anyhow ?

    Hi Hottentot,

Updating W7 also requires a decent internet, >>Your<< error code equates to lost/no internet connection.
    Another suggestion thou
When you want to update go to a local library they do tend to have a stable internet service.
note MS issues updates on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

    lets try using this link,
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/...e-issues/en-gb
select repair updates option,(block on right side)
    Might help but again not

The Bios update is only to try and correct the inconsistancies in the report its NOT currently causing any other problems
So you can let it be.

There is nothing really wrong with your comp other than the MS connection problem.
Something which we have no control over.
All i can say is try my Library suggestion, or have a word with your works IT people and ask if you can use thier internet.

    suite

    dear roy

well, yes but my connexion is stable. The problem is that updates are installed and windows fix it fixes issues but somehow all these are not registered. I download the same updates over and over again, and run the fix it over and over again but the issue is never solved. I guess there must be something with service registration ...

    Hi Hottentot,
If there was a problem with SPPSRV, there would be different code showing, and a futher message.
We can re-licence the comp, see screenshot

If they fail after the above can you copy/paste the details from the windowsUpdate log.
