    Well here it is again....

windows update takes 25% of the cpu again since today, the "update day"

I wonder if i have to install a special update like i did last month or just wait and hope that it will eventually find the updates((

Is KB3020369 the windows update sp2? i'm a bit scared to install this or not...^^i ignored a lot of updates a long the months and if it is going to install all of them i don't know...
and the other one is 29 mb i'm scared too lol...
these 2 updates are safe to install right?

sorry it must sound a bit dumb (

    What about this :

"This has worked for me every time:

    The solution:

Stop the Windows Update Service (wuauserv).
    Download and install KB3050265
    reboot
    Download and install KB3102810
Reboot and check for updates again. All of our machines found their required updates in less than 5 minutes.""

EDIT : apparently the update similar to the one i installed last month that we need to install this time is this : KB3177725 . is that right?

between KB3172605 and KB3177725 which one would supposedly cause problems the least please?^^

    Hi,
As long as you avoid the updates I posted you're going to have to keep using bandaids every month

    yea you're right :)
i saw people mentionning they installed KB3172605 before the "update day" and, unlike me, windows update found the updates rapidly...
i will install it somewhere this month, not doday though i just cannot^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

thank you for your help and sorry for avoiding your recommendations, i'm a bit stressed by the thought of updates breaking my old computer..

All right i'm going to install these 2 updates to be ready for wednesday^^

Do i need to restart my computer between the 2 installs or can i just do it in "one go"?
I read on windows reddit that one of the updates that was necessary to not get stuck on updates anymore was KB3050265; is it true that this one is also required? Or do i just need the 2 uptades ( KB3020369 & KB3172605) you mention?

    thank you

EDIT : Looks like KB3020369 was already installed so i just installed KB3172605. I hope it will work this time!!

    Hi,
Yes 3172605 should prompt you to restart after it installs,
Just make sure windows update service is not running when you attempt to install it and it should install pretty quickly :)
If it is running Stop it
windows update takes 25% of the cpu since today :(-service-stop-windows-update.jpg

    Success!!

I just turned on my computer and after 2 minutes i get notified of the new updates!!

Thank you again for your help Trash Zone!!

KB3020369 & KB3172605 were the updates recommended to me by Trash Zone^^ . I just installed KB3172605 a few days ago ( KB3020369 was already installed), and instead of searching endlessly for updates like the 2 last months, windows update found them instantly today when i booted my computer :)
