Win7 x64 OS Home Premium Problem

Hi...experienced 2 major power outages and when power returned, I am now getting the message that I am not operating a genuine licensed Win7 OS.

I bought this M5A78L-M USB3 (AMD760g/SB710 Chipset at the end of March 2016. It was an eBay power seller and what I got was the driver dvd. They load the OS. So I can't prove anything to M/S (to my knowledge). One minute everything is valid but the next the OS is not genuine.

How can I correct this horrible error? I have tons of images and daily backups plus all of my valuable programs that I don't want to lose...simply because M/S has (in their omnipotent wisdom) decided that this system isn't genuine.

    Thanks!

    MGADIAG Report

I will have to see if I can get my wife's computer to stay on long enough to do the MGADIAG report. Keep in mind that this OS has been running well since March 2016. There was never a question about genuine license before the power outage last night. Anyway here is the report for my computer...and thanks for the help!

Unfortunately, you need to buy a new license.

    This,

    Code:
    Windows Product ID: 00359-OEM-8992687-00015
Is only valid on a Samsung computer shipped from the factory with that OS.

This is a retail board you mentioned in your first post,

It's an ASUS and shouldn't have a Samsung OEM SLP licence on it.

I appreciate the input however I don't understand the conclusion. I know I have a 1TB external HD used for my Macrium Reflect backups. I did not know any other components were Samsung. How could this computer be operating like clockwork for 4 1/2 months if that were such a problem? Why would it only show up after a power outage? We live in Honduras now and power outages are like the sun coming up nearly every a.m. So I'm clearly not understanding you so please help me 1) to understand how this could be; and 2) what can I do about it (other than going thru the expense and incredible annoyance of having to load a new OS and reinstall the saved images?

Thanks...I mean no disrespect. Something just doesn't sound right. But here is a Speccy report I just ran with all my stuff on it. Please let me know what you think after you review what this system is and/or is not.

    Hi Doc,
    Derekimo is correct.
The installation is NON-genuine, for the reason he stated
The OEM licence key you have on your system, can only have been activated by using an activation expliot, ie a "hack", which was more than likely broken by the power cut.

As i said in my first post, the note, Retail or OEM System Builder licence type, which yours is not.

O.K...I viewed everything I sent you on speccy and there is no mention of Samsung except as the peripheral device. So I don't know where that advice came from.

Also by way of explanation, I could not load your SevenSupportSystemSpecs because M/S won't let me. I can't do the updates because they think I'm operating a license that is not genuine...a real catch 22. So I had to send it thru speccy.

    Hi Doc,
The reference to Samsung is BECAUSE of the product licence key and product Id

They should only be shown for Samsung Computer running W7 Home Premium, with thier own brand motherboard installed.

And you have just confirmed that the install is non-genuine by running Speccy, and no samsung equipement found.

There are other indications that this install is non-genuine.
Even if you purchased the OS dvd from a reputable source whoever installed it also included the hacks to circumvent WAT, Windows Activation Technologies, (Genuine test)

Hello Roy. So if I'm getting it right this so-called power seller is a cheap SOB that used a Samsung computer with original licensed OS and factory components, but also he had some sort of limited licensing rights to build and install onto other computers he builds...providing they're like his? But then these 'other builds' are not Samsungs, and so any event that slams down those computers will result in the 'not genuine license' message?

How does one know by looking at the product license license key and product I.D. whether it is WAT or not?

I feel really 'had'. This guy should not be allowed to sell and make money on the skirts of eBay.

O.K., so just where do I have to go in order to get a genuine Win7 x64 Home Premium? I'm 77 years old and on SS Income and can't afford to get whacked again in buying another wrong license. And any idea of what that correct license will cost me?
