Windows 7 update not finding updates

I did a clean install of Windows Home Premium 64 bit,
I used Acer restore disks to factory recover system,
I cloned from original HDD, that was fully functional when removed.
None of the. will download updates.

SURT gives me error 87, not recognized.
    SFC found no violations
I get no update errors codes

    CBS log attached

    Hi Philetus, Try this:

    Disconnect Internet connection

Open Windows update and change to "Never check for updates"

Open start menu and type services.msc in the search bar.

Scroll down to the Windows update service and select startup type to manual and stop the service.

    Reboot the PC.

Try downloading and installing the latest Windows update client manually https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/3138612 or first install the April 2015 servicing stack update https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/3020369 then the July update rollup https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/3172605 (some have said this works better)

    Reboot PC again once installed.

Go back into services and change Windows updates service back to Automatic (delayed start) and restart the service.

Open Windows update and select "Check for updates but let me choose"

Check for updates and it should hopefully pick them up within 20 minutes.

Thank you Brds7t7. Your solution cured the problem.
The April 2015 servicing stack update was already installed and I installed the July update rollup and the latest Windows update client.
I've been trying to fix this since Sat. I wonder how long this will work. In the past, I found solutions that worked, but the next time I needed them, MS had discontinued them.
    Again, Thank you so much.

    Hi Phil,
You said I cloned the HDD, TO what a new SSD?

Are you getting the non-genuine pop-up??

Yes. When I first got the laptop, I removed the original HDD and installed a SSD, so I still had the original system. I also made the Acer recovery disks. All three installs, Clean install, recovery disks, and clone activated fine.
I expected the clone to be able to update because it would when I removed it.
Somehow in the clone process or when I went online it borked the Windows update.
