Updates - which to avoid ?

I have been a tad busy & haven't updated Windows for over 2 months now I think.. I just checked today & found it had 68 important updates & 57 optional. I know W10 Free period is over, can u guys just scan over my list & lemme know the updates I need to avoid, as I don't have the luxury to repair a crash system nor start everything fresh again...

    Here's my list:

    optional updates:

Hello goodlad mate without scanning over the updates depending on what you want seeing the forced upgrade is over I wouldn't worry too much.
If you want to steer clear of 10 - stuff then use this Ultimate Outsider - Software Downloads after the initial work out just select what is in my pic and you can delete any 10 stuff files
and if you do not want the upgrade run the disable batch file from this Upgrade to Windows 10 Update - Enable or Disable in Windows 7 or 8.1 - Windows 10 Forums

As a rule I personally do not download any 7 updates unless I can see what they contain say for example a security patch for Office - just nothing that is out of the ordinary. I also set updates tpo let me choose whetehr to download and install see pic

When you do install updates use the GWX Control Panel (I keep mine on the desktop) and delete any 10 files

Optional update kb2952664 is one of the six GWX. Right click and 'hide' it.

Yep goodlad someone at least read through them personally I just use the GWX Control Panel and I do check in the registry too and delete and entries for GWX

Open up LOCAL_MACHINE and CURRENT_USER to look but you will have to run as admin to delete. Best bet is to back up the reg first Registry - Backup and Restore

KB2952664 won't be going away. It's one of MS new telemetry patches and won't be pulled. The latest Windows 8.1 ISO has its equivalent (KB2976978) integrated into the ISO's and can't be removed.

    Also on the telemetry list:
    KB3021917
    KB3068708
    KB3075249
    KB3080149

Personally, I don't install these. No, I don't think MS is snooping on my shopping lists or looking at photos of me on a drunken night out. But I don't see these as relevant or necessary updates either.
I only install what I feel is necessary to my PC use. I skip quite a few to be honest.

I do install ALL Security updates though and important.

Surprised .NET framework 4.6.2 hasn't shown up in Windows Update yet, I installed it a few weeks ago.

    Hi,
Why would net 4.6.2 show up if it's already installed :)
