    Hello again,

    Really.....I had a different view

The main issue I face, which you taught is picking the correct W7 only updates and not the 10 ones and in which order to install.

Now am trying to keep a note of all I do........

You must be a genius and learnt by heart what to pick and what not

    Cheers

    Hi,
Not really just read a lot :)
I have been testing a little on my laptop I don't use much and installed some other updates to see what happens,

    Hi,

Well again modesty, that's a great attitude. :)

If you love reading you should probably have become a doc.....

Care to have a view (when you are free ) at this clean install and 1st run for updates around 173 W7, approx 500 plus MB.

Reason for asking, to see for any unneeded, W10 ones or in which order to install to get least errors. Last time with the backup image I got 35 errors.......

    Would appreciate it. :)

    Cheers!

    Hi,
    Ouch what happened
    Get KB3020369 & KB3172605 & KB3125574 from the catalog
    Microsoft Update Catalog

After that you'd only have about 50 updates showing up instead
You can also get it from my OneDrive although they are in zip folders so you will have to right click them and extract all after downloading them you really only need now is KB3125574 you have the 2 others already.
Then just manually install like usual.

    Hi,

Nothing really serious, have the last created backup stored.

Want to reinstall, with less errors, previously had 35 failed updates.

Clean installed and after the 2 updates manually installed, connected to internet, validated, and ran updates for the 1st time, results 172 for W7 and 1 for defender.

Haven't installed any, apart from the 1st 2, that you recommended in the other thread.. KB30..and KB31..

    Now what would you recommend..

After manual install of these 3, check for updates would only show 50 vs 172?

If I download from your One drive and manually install, after the KB3125574 , check for updates would show none?

In your experienced opinion, which would have less failed updates?

    Thanks for your expert reply.

KB3083710 and KB3102810 are not required?

While installing manually the 3 from catalogue or from your drive do I need to be connected to internet?

    Thanks!
